Provides wound, fistula, ostomy, incontinence, and skin-breakdown care; assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care, and serves as a resource to patients and nursing staff. Requires Oregon RN licensure and BLS; BSN, wound care certification, and acute care experience preferred.
- JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
- Provides treatment based upon established plan of care for patients with wounds, fistulas, percutaneous tubes, ostomies, incontinence, and actual or potential skin breakdown. Serves as a resource and consultant to patients and nursing staff. Performs assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care provided. Collaborates with WOCN to implement changes in the plan of care.
- DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
- Samaritan Wound Care treats acute or chronic wounds caused by diabetes, surgery, injury, poor blood flow and/or other problems. The scope of practice is physician driven and centered around wound, ostomy and continence care while maintaining additional adjunctive therapies such as vein medicine and hyperbaric medicine.
- EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN licensure required.
- Healthcare Provider Level BLS required.
- BSN preferred.
- Related certification in Wound Care preferred.
- Experience in acute care preferred.
