US_Biospecimen Coordinator I

Hands-on laboratory sample and biospecimen inventory work, including sample logistics, labeling, tracking, check-in/check-out, and cold-room inventory at 2–8°C. Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, overtime may be required; 1-year contract with possible extension or permanent placement.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Sample Coordinator I to support a Biospecimen Acquisition Team. This is a hands-on role focused on physical inventory management, sample logistics, sample handling, and inventory tracking within a laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain physical biospecimen inventory.

  • Gather and pull samples/materials from inventory based on requests.

  • Process incoming samples and accurately label blocks and other materials.

  • Perform cytology pulls and retrieve required materials.

  • Support sample logistics and inventory movement.

  • Maintain and organize cold-room inventory.

  • Work with materials stored under controlled temperature conditions, including 2–8°C.

  • Use inventory/tracking systems to document sample movement and inventory status.

  • Follow established procedures for sample check-in/check-out.

  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate inventory and sample requests.

Who You Are

  • 0–5 years of relevant experience in inventory management, logistics, laboratory support, warehouse operations, or a related field.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable working in a hands-on environment requiring physical mobility and movement.

  • Able to work with materials in cold-room conditions (2–8°C).

  • Willingness to learn new inventory and tracking systems.

Preferred

  • Knowledge or experience with sample tracking or inventory management software.

  • Experience with physical inventory, stockroom, warehouse, materials, or sample logistics is a plus.
