Job Description
We are seeking experienced 1st Class Pipefitters with a minimum of 5 years of experience working at the 1st Class level in shipbuilding or a similar industrial environment. Candidates must be skilled in installing, fitting, and maintaining piping systems aboard vessels.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a 1st Class Pipefitter.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, thread, bend, and fit pipes using hand and power tools.
- Install piping systems, supports, clamps, brackets, and hangers aboard vessels.
- Cut openings for piping and test systems for leaks.
- Clean, flush, inspect, and maintain piping systems.
- Safely rig equipment and follow OSHA safety requirements.
- Must pass the 1st Class Pipefitter written test with a minimum score of 70% and practical test with a minimum score of 90%.
- Must have a complete set of personal tools.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements using the metric system.
- Follow instructions, identify problems, and maintain quality standards.
- Work safely, meet daily production goals, and maintain a clean work area.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work as part of a team.
- Ability to assist with supervisory responsibilities when needed.
