Description

The facilities management team consists of several specialized groups to meet the needs of Emory Healthcare Facilities. We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Specialist III to support and oversee equipment, patient care, and sustainability. This Individual will:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Licensed skilled, trained and certified in one of the competency areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, steam control, and related building systems and equipment.
  • Practicing under the guidance of a licensed professional. Provides guidance to maintenance mechanics and assigns and schedules work.
  • Interprets departmental and organizational policies and procedures for staff to ensure consistent practices.
  • Picks-up and distributes work assignments and gives direction to ensure work orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Schedules, monitors and directs workflow.
  • Observes and reviews work produced by staff to maintain efficiency and timely services.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, schematics and written technical documents of general machineries to locate area of trouble and complete repairs accurately.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on related equipment, buildings and building systems to ensure safe and proper operations.
  • Shuts down equipment prior to scheduled repairs if necessary.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in building maintenance with supportive licensure or degree in building maintenance OR 20 years of experience in one or more of the competency areas.
  • Positions in this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
  • Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.
