Curriculum Writer, Alpha - $100,000/year USD
On-site work designing and testing a K-8 life skills curriculum in public speaking, storytelling, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy, using AI tools and student data.
Ready to revolutionize education while other curriculum writers tinker at the margins? At Alpha Schools, we're not just teaching kids—we're transforming 8-year-olds into confident entrepreneurs and 10-year-olds into compelling public speakers who command the room.
This isn't about creating another worksheet or lesson plan. This is about designing experiences that push the boundaries of what children can achieve. As our Curriculum Writer at our Austin campus, you'll leverage cutting-edge AI to craft breakthrough workshops that develop real-world skills most schools ignore entirely.
You'll pilot your innovations with actual students, measure concrete outcomes, and iterate based on data—not theory. Working alongside education visionaries, you'll help build the curriculum that prepares children for success in the actual world they'll inherit, not the standardized testing landscape of yesterday.
What you will be doing
- Architect a comprehensive K-8 life skills curriculum that develops measurable competencies in public speaking, storytelling, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy
- Design rigorous assessment frameworks that objectively measure skill progression in areas traditional education overlooks
- Test workshop prototypes with real students, gathering quantifiable data and qualitative insights to drive rapid iteration
- Conduct focused research on educational innovation, synthesizing findings into actionable curriculum strategies
- Partner with facilitators to ensure flawless workshop execution and consistent achievement of learning objectives
What you will NOT be doing
- Creating superficially entertaining activities that fail to build lasting skills
- Designing curriculum with artificially low expectations that underestimate children's capabilities
- Developing theoretical content disconnected from practical application
- Building passive learning experiences where students merely absorb information
- Constructing assessments focused on memorization rather than demonstrated competency
