Utility Person - Nutrition Services
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen areas; dispose of garbage, recycle cardboard, manage soiled linens, and cross-train in other entry-level kitchen roles. High school diploma preferred, basic reading/math skills, and prior food service, dishwashing, or customer service experience are a plus.
Job Description
Compensation: $17.25 to $22.50 per hour (Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.)

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)
- Wash, strip, and sanitize dishes and utensils using modern commercial dish machines and pulpers.
- Process cookware manually using the proper wash, rinse, and sanitation methods to ensure compliance with the NYS Health Department and regulatory standards.
- Apply and store cleaning chemicals safely utilizing proper methods and protective gear.
- Sweep, mop, and sanitize food preparation, service, and storage areas.
- Promptly dispose of garbage, recycle cardboard boxes, and manage soiled linens.
- Cross-train in other entry-level kitchen roles, support the Storeroom Clerk by stocking walk-in coolers, and assist in training new utility team members.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
- Prior food service, dishwashing, or customer service experience is a plus, but we are fully prepared to train the right candidate
- Basic reading, math, and computation skills
- Ability to work productively, stay organized, and communicate effectively within a fast-paced, time-structured team environment
