As a Staff Thermal Design Engineer at Nokia, you will drive the development of innovative thermal solutions for optoelectronic products. Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced thermal cooling solutions for optoelectronic products using various heat transfer methods.
- Conduct thermal, thermo-mechanical, and mechanical FEA analyses to validate designs.
- Lead experimental validation of thermal solutions to ensure performance specifications are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product designs and develop assembly procedures.
- Perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on thermal designs to mitigate risks.
- Create detailed production-ready CAD models and drawings for manufacturing.
- Work closely with vendors to manage thermal component specifications and procurement.
- Engage with manufacturing and operations teams to meet cost, yield, and cycle time targets.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of relevant experience
- Expertise in FEA and CFD using ANSYS and FloTherm
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Pro/Engineer, Creo, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD
- Experience in conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
Nice-To-Have:
- Knowledge of optical products and telecom qualification specifications
- Experience with thermal solution assembly procedures
- Background in experimental validation of thermal solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with procurement processes for thermal components
