Structural Engineer
Provides civil-structural engineering expertise for a transmission substation engineering and design team, including substation structure design, reporting, budgeting, progress tracking, and contractor collaboration.

In this role you will provide civil-structural engineering and technical expertise and supervision to a transmission substation engineering and design team.
Responsibilities
- Design structures for power substations
- Create and present structural overviews for upcoming projects, and develop reports that include technical details for engineers as well as big-picture analysis and cost estimates for project managers and senior executives
- Measure loads and pressures caused by environmental or human influence
- Follow construction safety guidelines
- Choose appropriate materials based on structural specifications
- Prepare and allocate budgets
- Track and report on project progress
- Collaborate with contractors and project managers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Structural engineering.
- 5 to 7 year of structural engineering experience in electrical power systems industry
- PE license required
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods and regulations
- AutoCAD experience
- Analytical and reasoning ability, math skills, and good judgment for critical operating decisions.
