Senior Design Engineer

Onsite 5 days a week, designing and implementing new products and solutions, with test plans, CAD models, engineering documentation, and design reviews. Requires a mechanical engineering degree, 8+ years' design experience, and SolidWorks/Pro-E/Inventor experience.

Intralox, LLC currently has a mechanical design engineer position available in the New Product Development Department. This individual will be primarily responsible for contributing to bringing ideas and concepts into reality through the design and implementation of new products and solutions across multiple industries. Onsite in New Orleans.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and interface with team members, representatives from other departments, and customers regarding problem/opportunity definitions, project scope, and project status.
  • Develop test plans to evaluate performance of materials, products, and system solutions.
  • Conduct and participate in ongoing design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
  • Own new product design discissions from concept through implementation with considerations for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Create engineering documentation including design intents, test reports, and project reports.
  • Evaluate and interpret test data and results to determine product life and performance expectations.
  • Create complete and robust 3D CAD models including full product assemblies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • 8+ years engineering design experience
  • Solid modeling experience in SolidWorks, Pro-E, Inventor, or similar software
  • Proven ability to perform technical analysis, design, and optimization using engineering methods and equations.
  • A self managed individual who excels in a team environment
  • Available in office 5 days per week
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Desired Skills:

  • Machine or System design experience
  • Experience in Mathcad, MATLAB, or similar software
  • Hands-on experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
