Design Engineer I (Dec 2026 & May 2027 Grads) - Denver

Entry-level structural design work on residential and commercial projects, using Revit and occasionally AutoCAD, with occasional site visits and flexible hours around a core schedule. On-site with occasional work from home; includes health, life, disability, 401(k) match, PTO, tuition reimbursement, and licensure support. Requires an ABET civil, architectural, or structural engineering degree, FE passed or scheduled, and U.S. work authorization.

Apex Engineers designs the structures behind the buildings people use every day. We are a growing structural firm working across residential and commercial projects, and we are hiring entry-level design engineers into our Denver office.

What you'll do
  • Work with teammates, clients, and other disciplines to prepare structural designs, plans, and calculations. Your clients are architects, contractors, and property owners. Your coordination partners are MEP and civil.
  • Work across project types: residential, retail, hospitality, office, sports and recreation, multifamily, mixed use, adaptive reuse, and education.
  • Carry several projects at once, at different stages from schematic design through construction administration, and hit the deadlines on each.
  • Model and draft in Revit, occasionally AutoCAD.
  • Complete shop drawing reviews, truss certifications, and i-joist certifications.
  • Respond to RFIs and other construction administration questions.
  • Visit sites on your assigned projects and document your findings.
  • Keep clients and your supervisor current on project status.

What you'll get
  • Company-paid health insurance options, plus company-paid life and disability coverage.
  • 401(k) with a 4 percent company match, beginning at six months of service and discretionary profit sharing contributions to your 401(k).
  • Paid time off and holiday pay.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
  • FSA and HSA options.
  • Flexible hours around a core schedule. This is an on-site role in our Denver office, with occasional work from home.
  • Licensure support: Access to our study materials, mentors who have been through it, time off (not PTO) for test days, reimbursement for exam fee and approved study courses upon passing, reimbursement for state licensing fees, and continuing education stipend.

Compensation
  • $70,000 to $78,000 per year, depending on experience and licensure.
  • Discretionary bonus program (typically between 2-6% annually).
  • Benefits are listed above.
