Manufacturing Engineer - Titusville Plant

Position Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for developing and implementing technical and administrative direction at the plant level to improve operations. Demonstrates a strong leadership role. Actively participates in professional development to assume positions of managerial responsibility.

MUST be a US citizen.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct technical objectives to safely achieve a high degree of equipment availability, maximize operation efficiency, and cost efficiencies to promote profitability.
  • Design roll shop tooling utilizing OEM drawings and specifications
  • Develop positive relationships with the customers to allow for continuous communication regarding tooling and production requirements.
  • Develop positive relationships with the shop floor personnel to improve safety and operations.
  • Serve as an active member of the team and contribute towards plant success.
  • Ability to work with outside vendors for conversion services.
  • Manage capital projects at the plant level. Support budget development, management and execution.
  • Work with EHS personnel to develop and implement standard safe work procedures to improve shop uptime, reduce costs and improve operational efficiency and productivity/output.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and assist Quality Manager in assessing root cause.
  • Responsible for environmental sampling and reporting.
  • Assists with identifying and managing major maintenance projects.

Education and Experience
A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgy or related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years' experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity of roll grinding in the steel Industry experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent 2D software required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products.

Working Conditions
  • Steel Plant environment including working out of doors, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas.
  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs.
  • Work in and around high voltage electrical equipment and high noise areas.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toed shoes, hardhats, and eye and hearing protection.
