Core Responsibilities
- Project Stewardship: Lead the end-to-end design and management of diverse civil projects, encompassing feasibility studies, comprehensive land development documents, and site permitting.
- Regulatory Authority: Navigate and secure approvals from critical agencies including the Illinois EPA, MWRD, IDOT, IDNR, FEMA, and the Army Corps of Engineers.
- Advanced Hydrologic Modeling: Execute sophisticated stormwater management analyses and prepare technical reports utilizing TR20 and EPASWMM.
- Multidisciplinary Coordination: Integrate complex systems by scheduling survey crews, managing client contracts, and ensuring all deliverables align with village submittals and rigorous quality standards.
- Design Excellence: Oversight and development of construction documents, cost opinions, and technical specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.
- Field Leadership: Conduct site observations and coordinate construction activities to ensure design intent is realized on-site.
- Client Advocacy: Foster long-term relationships by acting as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring successful project outcomes through clear communication and expert problem-solving.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Illinois.
- Experience: Proven track record in land development, grading, sanitary sewer, watermain, and roadway design.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced command of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and hydraulic modeling tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized Certification: Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) designation.
- Software Differentiators: Experience with Geopak/Open Roads or advanced GIS integration.
- Leadership Drive: Previous experience mentoring junior staff or managing small-to-mid-sized design teams.
