Mechanical Engineer I
Product design and development of mechanical devices using CAD, drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, test plans, and APQP. Requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Microsoft Office proficiency; Catia, NX, or SolidWorks preferred.

- Complete product design of mechatronic devices as defined from system level design requirements
- Use of defined product development process from concept initiation to system validation and production
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete product design and development of mechanical devices through use and application of mechanical engineering principles
- Define and document all component design attributes as needed to satisfy all system level design requirements
- Use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) to create and modify solid model components and assemblies
- Create product engineering drawings and apply appropriate GD&T requirements
- Complete dimensional tolerance and stack-up analysis on component assemblies
- Complete and document mechanical assembly stack analysis as required
- Create appropriate level of documentation of engineering analysis
- Document designs through use of assembly drawings and component part lists
- Complete Design Failure Mode Effects and Analysis (DFMEA) as defined from system level design requirements
- Complete component packaging analysis and optimization of mechanical devices within vehicle packaging environments
- Create and complete component development test plans
- Complete and assist APQP activities as required for component sourcing and production
- Complete product development process according to defined project timing requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Technical Competencies:
- Mechanical engineering fundamentals and application to product design and development
- Use and application of component GD&T based on product functional requirements
- Knowledge of common manufacturing, machining and component assembly processes
- Experience in Catia, NX, or SolidWorks preferred
Non-Technical Competencies:
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment
- Ability to coordinate and organize program deliverables from multiple sources and customers
- Effective interpersonal skills with internal and external customers
- Excellent verbal and technical communication skills required
- Proficiency with Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio, Project) is required
