General Description

Masaba Mining Equipment has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Intern at our facility in Vermillion, SD. We provide highly talented undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to gain valuable, practical experience in a professional work environment. Interns receive mechanical engineering experience and the ability to explore future professional opportunities all the while earning a competitive salary. Interns perform project-focused assignments that provide hands-on experience. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our business and will be surrounded by people who are committed to helping you learn. Internship participants increase their prospects for full-time positions upon graduation.

Engineering interns will be involved in the ground up design of new projects and modification of previous designs. Equipment categories include a wide range of aggregate processing equipment including portable washing, screening, and crushing plants, a wide variety of conveyor equipment, as well as a wide variety of customized equipment. Interns will work very closely with all aspects of the management team including sales, operations, marketing, purchasing and production. This fast-paced environment affords interns a great challenging environment to grow experience and skill sets in the discipline of mechanical engineering and general business.

Education And Work Requirements

A successful intern will have a strong work ethic, be initiative and motivated, have the ability to work well in a team environment, strong written and verbal communications skills, working knowledge of Auto CAD, Auto CAD Lt., or Inventor software applications. Qualified candidates will have at least Junior status in an accredited university and be a Mechanical Engineering major with a minimum 2.7 GPA. A requirement of this position is to be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have a valid work Visa.
