Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems to ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of products. They work closely with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, troubleshoot production issues, and enhance overall productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce production costs, and ensure product quality.
- Design and implement production systems and workflows, including the selection of equipment and tools.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed industry and company standards.
- Identity and resolve quality issues by implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Evaluate and recommend cost-effective materials, components, and manufacturing methods.
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement technology solutions to streamline manufacturing processes.
- Lead or participate in projects related to process improvement, capacity expansion, and new product introductions.
- Develop project plans, set milestones, and manage resources effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, design and quality assurance, to resolve production issues and implement process changes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and work on creating a safe working environment for employees.
- Identify areas for improvement that drive Lean manufacturing practices and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Training:
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field.
- Proficient in CAD Software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Experience with CAM programming for CNC Machines.
- Knowledge and experience within a machine shop, sheet metal shop and mechanical assembly.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong understanding of the creation and implementation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) processes.
