Structural Project Engineer

Designs new buildings and structural alterations, renovations, and additions; manages projects, prepares reports and design deliverables, and performs site reviews and construction administration. Requires 4-7 years of structural design consulting experience, a bachelor's and/or master's in structural, civil, or architectural engineering, and EIT or PE/SE preferred.

Osborn Engineering is looking for a Structural Project Engineer with 4-7 years of experience to join our Orlando, Tampa, and/or St. Pete, FL office locations. This position will report to the Associate Director of Structural Engineering and will play a key role in supporting a wide range of structural projects for both private- and public-sector clients. The ideal candidate will bring strong consulting experience, enjoy working collaboratively, and be excited about the opportunity to help shape and grow our structural team.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Design of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings.
  • Manage and Coordinate projects with clients and other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with Senior engineers to assemble structural work products.
  • Prepare structural integrity and assessment reports.
  • Design and detailing of structure including calculations and computer modeling, for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures
  • Prepare design deliverables for SD, DD, CD level documents.
  • Coordinate with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings and attend coordination meetings.
  • Meet project schedule and budget requirements
  • Perform site reviews and construction administration services during the construction phase.
  • Participate in continuing education seminars and ongoing continuous improvement efforts.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
  • 4 - 7 Years of experience in Structural Design in Consulting Engineering.
  • Proactive and collaborative team member.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as REVIT, RISA, ADAPT, EnerCalc, Tekla Structural Designer.
  • Strong knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
  • Strong knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.
  • Experience in designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's in Structural, Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
  • EIT or PE/SE License Preferred.
