Plastic Engineer

Full-time work developing and reviewing customer product designs, estimating manufacturing costs, expediting orders, and keeping customer records. Requires an engineering degree, 5+ years in plastic injection molding, SolidWorks and IQMS, and customer communication skills.

A typical day for a Plastic Manufacturing Engineer will include:
  • Serving as key point of contact between PMM and customers to sell and promote the sale of company capabilities
  • Developing, reviewing and improving designs for customer products
  • Facilitating efficient manufacturing at the lowest possible cost while satisfying customer functional requirements
  • Producing reliable estimates of costs to manufacture products and ensure tooling meets all requirements
  • Receiving and processing repeat orders from customers and verifying that terms are agreeable with quotes
  • Receiving inquiries from current/potential customers and verifying all documents are complete
  • Expediting orders and following up on behalf of the customer - apprising the customer of order status
  • Assuring complete and accurate filing of customer history folders, pricing data, and related records/reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Plastics)
  • 5+ years' experience with plastic injection molding (tooling preferred)
  • Proficient use of SolidWorks and IQMS software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers
