On-site manufacturing engineering work supporting process and equipment improvements, automated equipment troubleshooting, drawings, tooling, and capital equipment specification. Requires an engineering or engineering technology bachelor’s degree, 3-5 years’ experience, CAD and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Kalwall Enterprises Inc.

On July 1, 2026, Apogee completed the acquisition of Kalwall Enterprises, a vertically integrated manufacturer of high-performance translucent daylighting solutions, based in Manchester, New Hampshire. Kalwall Enterprises is currently being integrated into the Architectural Glass segment in Apogee. This position is based on site at Kalwall Enterprises in Manchester, New Hampshire.

We are currently looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to our growing Engineering team. This is an opportunity to apply your skills and experience to exciting projects in an established manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify, design, propose, and implement manufacturing process and equipment improvements to advance safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.
  • Provide leadership and hands-on technical support for manufacturing operations and maintenance activities in a dynamic team environment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and document breakdowns of automated equipment.
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, manufacturing work instructions, and maintenance procedures.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and small to medium-scale equipment for in-house fabrication by our machine shop to support manufacturing operations.
  • Assist in the specification and procurement of new capital equipment working with outside suppliers.
  • Contribute to creative problem solving and implement root cause corrective action as part of cross-functional team events.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Proficient in CAD (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office applications; experience with 3D printing a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting control components and motion systems in automated equipment.
  • Experience in assembly, CNC machining, testing, heat treating, bending, welding, and finishing a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in creative problem solving and implementing corrective action.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; written and verbal communication of complicated subjects is required.
