Civil Engineering Technologist

Mix of field and office work on surveying, inspections, design, drawings, project management, and contract administration across resource, municipal, energy, and mining projects. Requires a civil engineering technology diploma or equivalent, 1+ year in consulting/design, and AutoCAD Civil3D or LT.

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Manager in the Campbell River Office. The successful Civil Engineering Technologist will be involved in various sectors (resource, municipal, energy and mining) and will possess a strong background in surveying, inspecting, and designing infrastructure through various sectors with a motivated and dynamic team of professionals. Successful applicants will participate in the provision of engineering services from the proposal stage through planning, design, construction, and commissioning of projects. This position will involve a mix of field and office work, ranging throughout the year and based on project requirements. There are opportunities for this position in both our Smithers and Campbell River Offices.

Major Job Functions:
  • Structure Condition Assessment
  • Construction Surveys
  • Geotechnical Assessments (Test pits, infiltration testing, material sampling etc.)
  • Surveying (Total Station & GPS)
  • Preparing Engineering Drawings for projects in various sectors
  • Coordinating project drawings and reports
  • Project Management and Contract Administration

Education and Experience:
  • Diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering Technology or Equivalent Experience
  • Minimum one year experience in a design or consulting engineering environment
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D and/or AutoCAD LT

Salary:

$65,000-$110,000 annually, plus benefits. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on job-related factors such as engineering experience, certification level (AScT/CTech) and scope of responsibilities.
