CNC Engineer

Programs, sets up, and optimizes CNC mills and routers to machine aluminum extrusions, including troubleshooting, inspections, and process documentation.

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing CNC machines to produce high-precision aluminum components, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the production process.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Develop and optimize CNC programs for aluminum extrusion machining using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
    • Set up and operate CNC mills and routers to machine aluminum extrusions to tight tolerances.
    • Collaborate with quality and production teams to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
    • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for aluminum materials.
    • Conduct first-article inspections and ensure all parts meet quality standards.
    • Maintain and calibrate CNC equipment, ensuring proper operation and minimal downtime.
    • Document processes, setups, and best practices for repeatability and training purposes.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

    Qualifications:
    • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
    • 3+ years of experience in CNC machining.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
    • Strong knowledge of CNC programming and CAM software.
    • Familiarity with quality control tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in an aluminum extrusion manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
