Job Description:
Sterile Processing Technicians play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall safety of our cannabis production facility. This position is responsible for cleaning and preparing tools, trays, equipment, and production areas for daily use while ensuring established sanitation and regulatory standards are consistently met. The role also involves managing alcohol and ISO supplies, operating washers and ultrasonic cleaning equipment, assessing rooms for cleanliness, and maintaining accurate cleaning logs and documentation. Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential to keeping production operations clean, safe, and running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Assess processing areas for cleanliness and readiness, ensuring tools, drawers, tins, and trays are clean and properly organized.
- Collect dirty tools and trays from processing areas and production Pods and return them to the washroom.
- Clean dirty tools using washers or ultrasonic cleaning equipment and thoroughly clean dirty trays.
- Inspect washers and ultrasonic machines to ensure they are clean, empty, and ready for use before operating.
- Follow the established drainage schedule for the ultrasonic machine, including Wednesdays, Fridays, and as needed.
- Return clean tools and trays to their designated areas and ensure stations remain properly stocked throughout the shift.
- Prepare and maintain clean, dry tools for lunch switches and production changeovers.
- Stock clean towels at all stations and replace towels on drying racks every Friday.
- Maintain the sink and washroom areas by keeping them clean and preparing water for cleaning activities.
- Collect, condense, refill, and redistribute ISO bottles throughout the processing area as needed.
- Perform alcohol refill runs and distribute supplies to designated areas.
- Inspect and clean Sauce Stations, including preparing water and cleaning Sauce rollers and mats on the production floor.
- Complete end-of-day cleaning by collecting dirty tools and trays, preparing water for cleaning, and removing Sauce residue from roller machines and mats.
- Maintain accurate and timely cleaning logs to document sanitation activities and support compliance with company and state requirements.
- Follow all established sanitation, safety, and compliance procedures throughout the workday.
- Wear a properly fitted respirator mask as required.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent cleaning standards.
- Ability to follow detailed cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Ability to safely operate washers, ultrasonic machines, and other cleaning equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep tools, trays, supplies, and work areas clean and properly stocked.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize cleaning needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to accurately complete cleaning logs and required documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Production and other departments.
Required Experience:
- Experience working in a hospital or other highly regulated, sanitary environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience operating industrial washing machines and ultrasonic cleaning equipment.
- Experience in the cannabis, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other regulated production industries.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods
Division of Cannabis Control Requirements:
