Supervisor Professional Practice Evaluation & Risk Management
Leads medical staff practice evaluation, nursing peer review, and patient safety/risk management work, with quality data analysis and presentations to staff. Requires Missouri RN, BSN, 10+ years relevant experience, and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EMR, and quality systems.
SUMMARY: The Supervisor, Professional Practice Evaluation & Risk Management, will be responsible for Medical Staff Practice Evaluation Processes (OPPE and FPPE), with an expectation of using quality data and clinical review skills and experience to develop and deploy meaningful processes for the NKC Health Medical Staff. In addition to other responsibilities:
- Leads risk management efforts in the field of nursing peer review.
- Assists with review and investigation of internal occurrence reports and root cause analysis and other patient safety event reviews.
- Analyzes quality and risk management data to identify opportunities to improve patient safety, and will implement proactive risk management projects to promote patient safety and risk reduction.
- The successful candidate will have a strong orientation to quality and other data systems and a strong background in nursing leadership.
- The successful candidate will have professional presence and leadership acumen to present projects to the Medical Staff and NKC Health staff.
- The position reports to the Director, Risk Management.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 10 years of relevant progressive, clinical work experience. Strong nursing background and quality data experience required. Strong working knowledge of CMS and TJC regulatory compliance requirements related to quality, risk management and medical staff.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficient in EMR, occurrence reporting, Symplr, Premier and other quality data systems. Must demonstrate a high level of proficiency working in electronic systems.
OTHER: Strong professional, organizational and interpersonal skills required for working with all Medical Staff, hospital staff and senior leadership.
LICENSE/CERT: Required: RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri
EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Nursing, Preferred: Masters - Nursing
