What You'll Do
- Prepare and garnish maternity specials daily.
- Use proper documentation tools for labeling, dieting, and cooling procedures.
- Assist others with the preparation of food for special functions.
- Prepare vegetables and main entrees for patients and cafeteria following standardized recipes.
- Prepare soup, sauces, and stuffing for patient services.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
- Set up food for tray lines in appropriate size pans.
- Test cooked food by taste, temperature, smell, and appearance.
- Back patient tray line on grill/broiler as needed and follow tally for batch cooking.
- Use waste logs to record all leftovers and waste with written plans for utilization.
- Begin patient food preparation for the following day.
- Delegate duties to a cook's helper.
