What You'll Do
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for staff positions, advising managers on strategy and selection.
- Lead the annual performance management process, coaching managers and employees on development.
- Consult with managers on performance, workplace concerns, and policy interpretation.
- Conduct job and organizational analyses for position management and reclassifications.
- Support day-to-day implementation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
- Serve as the primary HR resource for workplace accommodations and coordinate employee leaves.
- Supervise, coach, and develop the Human Resources Coordinator.
- Oversee and delegate HR operational responsibilities, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible professional human resources experience.
- Experience advising managers on employee relations matters and working in a unionized environment.
- Demonstrated experience as an HR consultant or advisor across multiple HR disciplines.
- Ability to interpret complex policies, analyze issues, and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong business judgment, consultation, facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships across organizational boundaries.
- Experience supervising or providing functional leadership to staff.
- Master's degree, SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification, or labor-relations training preferred.
- Experience with HR systems, data, and reporting, especially in higher education, is a plus.
