Position Overview
A rapidly growing precision manufacturing company serving the aerospace, defense, medical device, and space industries is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a high-performance manufacturing operation.This is a true site leadership role with responsibility for operational performance, profitability, quality, compliance, and team development. The successful candidate will bring a strong manufacturing leadership background, a hands-on management style, and a proven ability to scale operations in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all site operations, including manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and production planning
- Drive operational excellence through KPI management, continuous improvement, and accountability
- Manage plant profitability, productivity, delivery performance, and customer satisfaction
- Develop and coach managers and supervisors while building a strong leadership bench
- Maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other regulatory requirements
- Support customer relationships, audits, new program launches, and growth initiatives
- Improve capacity utilization, workforce planning, and operational scalability
- Foster a culture focused on safety, quality, ownership, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
- 5+ years in a senior operations, plant, or general management role
- Strong experience within aerospace, defense, medical device, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated success managing AS9100 and ISO 9001 operations
- Track record of financial accountability, P&L ownership, and operational improvement
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ERP/MRP systems, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience with ITAR, CMMC, or defense-related compliance preferred
