Position Overview
We are seeking an Industrial Designer to develop user-centered product concepts and take designs from initial research and sketches through prototyping and production. The role combines creativity with engineering thinking: you will create elegant, manufacturable solutions that meet functional requirements, user needs, and business goals while working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct user research and market analysis to inform product requirements and design direction.
• Generate conceptual sketches, renderings, and 3D CAD models to explore form, function, and ergonomics.
• Develop detailed CAD models and engineering drawings suitable for prototyping and manufacturing.
• Build and test physical prototypes using rapid prototyping, model-making, and workshop tools; iterate designs based on test results.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and manufacturing partners to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
• Select appropriate materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes with attention to durability, sustainability, and cost.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize production.
• Prepare and present design proposals, specifications, and rationale to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Maintain clear documentation of design decisions, revisions, and prototyping outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements throughout the design process.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in industrial or product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating concept-to-production work.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360) and experience producing engineering drawings.
• Strong sketching, visualization, and rendering skills to communicate ideas quickly and effectively.
• Hands-on prototyping and model-making experience, including familiarity with rapid prototyping tools and workshop equipment.
• Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal, casting), and DFM/DFA principles.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams.
• Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience integrating engineering considerations into aesthetic and ergonomic design; familiarity with sustainability practices is a plus.
