Senior Electronics Design Engineer
Elkridge, MD | Full-Time. Up to $135k base + full benefits.
Great opportunity for a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a hands-on role focused on the design and development of advanced electronic systems used in soldering and rework equipment, including BGA installation and removal machines. The successful candidate will own assigned projects from concept through production while serving as a senior technical resource to the broader engineering team.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, prototyping, testing, and validation of electronic systems and PCB-based designs.
- Develop schematics and layouts using Altium Designer.
- Manage assigned projects from concept through production, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
- Conduct design reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation including BOMs, test reports, and electrical drawings.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of electronic circuit design and development experience.
- Strong background in analog, digital, and mixed-signal design.
- PCB design experience using Altium or similar tools.
- Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
- Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs, and logic analyzers.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Bonus Points for
- TCP/IP, RS232, I2C, and SPI experience.
- Power electronics or motor controls experience.
- Python and/or C++ programming experience.
