Position Summary
The Food Service District Manager is responsible for overseeing food service operations across multiple store locations within an assigned district. This role ensures consistency in food quality, safety, customer experience, operational execution, training, and profitability.
The District Manager partners closely with store managers and team members to drive sales growth, maintain brand standards, and support the successful execution of food service programs. This is a field-based leadership role requiring regular travel between locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular store visits to evaluate food service operations, cleanliness, customer experience, and adherence to company standards
- Ensure consistent execution of all food service programs in alignment with company expectations
- Monitor and enforce food safety and sanitation standards, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Perform food safety audits and operational inspections; implement and follow up on corrective action plans
- Train, coach, and develop store managers and food service team members in food preparation, merchandising, customer service, and operational procedures
- Support onboarding and continued training for new employees
- Assist stores with inventory management, waste control, ordering, and labor optimization
- Analyze sales performance and food service metrics; provide reporting and insights to leadership
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and brand standards
- Collaborate with operations leadership to roll out new programs, promotions, and initiatives
- Respond to operational challenges, customer concerns, and urgent situations as needed
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers (kitchen equipment industry), and store teams
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and service excellence
Qualifications
- 3+ years of multi-unit management experience in food service, restaurants, or a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- ServSafe certification preferred or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe
- Experienced in not only implementing food service programs, but also building from the ground up, ex. creating new menus
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret sales reports, KPIs, and operational data
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, field-based environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting systems
- Willingness to travel frequently within assigned territory
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
- Ability to travel extensively between store locations (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand for extended periods during store visits
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing food service programs in quick-service restaurants
- Knowledge of labor management, food cost control, and merchandising strategies
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, and structured training programs
- Strong understanding of customer service and guest experience standards
