Field-based sales leadership across the LA Central territory, selling at store level, building displays, managing inventory, coaching independent operators, and opening new accounts. Requires 3+ years CPG experience, 1-2 years with DSD or route sales, a valid driver's license, and U.S. work authorization.
Job Location/Shift: Field-based across the LA Central territory (Downey, Norwalk, Carson, Lakewood, Torrance, Whittier, Paramount)
Job Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 base + 15% quarterly bonus eligible + Company Car/Gas card
Who We Are:
In less than fifteen years of operation, we have quickly risen to prominence as a leading manufacturer of Mexican food products and baked goods! Our company was founded by ex-executives from Mission Foods, and our executive leadership team includes top-level leaders from food and beverage giants like Mission Foods, Del Real Foods, Starbucks, and Walmart!
Over the last four years, we have steadily grown from a regional player into a national player and seen our revenue grow from $60M to just over $100M in that time span. Our two plants currently house nearly 500 employees running 24/6 baking, flour products and corn products lines.
We are a fast-growing team making top-quality food for major retail stores and restaurants. We are expanding quickly, and we are looking for hardworking, hands-on leaders who want to build a solid career with a team that values hard work and gets things done every day.
The Opportunity:
This is a hands-on field sales leadership role acting as a "one-man-show" across your territory. You won't be stuck behind a desk-you will be out in the field selling at the store level, building displays, managing inventory, and coaching independent operators to drive volume and hit our growth targets during an exciting expansion phase.
What You Will Do
Drive Store-Level Sales: Negotiate displays, promotions, and product placement at major chain accounts like Albertsons, Ralphs, and Vons.
Build Chain Relationships: Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with chain district managers across key retail banners (including Vallarta, Cardenas, and Ralphs).
Manage Independent Operators: Coach, train, and influence 10 to 12 independent operators (IBPs) managing roughly 14 accounts each, review weekly numbers, and target underperforming routes.
New Business Development: Dedicate at least 10% to 15% of your time to opening new accounts in foodservice, small independent retail, taquerias, carnicerias, and bodegas.
Hands-On Merchandising: Execute product orders, prevent out-of-stocks, build displays, handle product resets independently, and pitch in with physical merchandising.
Communicate & Execute: Roll out pricing and promotions effectively to independent route operators while upholding food safety and operational standards.
What You Need for This Job
Experience: 3+ years of CPG experience, preferably in short-code/perishable food categories (tortillas, bakery, snacks).
DSD Background: 1 to 2 years working with independent distributors, DSD operators, or route sales networks.
Intangibles: Proven store-level selling skills and a scrappy, hands-on attitude who loves fieldwork without relying on a large corporate support team.
Additional Requirements: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; Microsoft Suite; valid driver's license with a clean record and willingness to travel
