Software Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-quality web and backend systems. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across the stack building user interfaces with React and Next.js, authoring backend services in Python, and integrating APIs and AI/LLM capabilities. You will help shape architecture, improve CI/CD pipelines, and deliver scalable, secure solutions that drive product value.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces using React and Next.js with TypeScript.
- Design and implement backend services and APIs in Python, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Integrate large language models (LLMs) and AI-driven features into products while considering latency, safety, and cost.
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using GitHub and related tooling.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; follow test-driven development and code quality practices.
- Optimize application performance and SQL queries; design data models and interact with relational databases.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver features.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers.
- Monitor production systems, respond to incidents, and apply post-incident learnings to improve reliability.
- Document architecture, APIs, and operational runbooks to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in full-stack roles.
- Proven experience with React and Next.js in production and strong proficiency in TypeScript.
- Solid backend development experience with Python and building/consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices and tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.).
- Strong SQL skills and experience designing efficient data models and queries.
- Familiarity with LLMs, AI integration patterns, prompts, safety concerns, and latency trade-offs.
- Proficient with Git/GitHub workflows and collaborative code review processes.
- Experience with containerization and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and an emphasis on shipping high-quality software.
- Bonus: contributions to open-source projects, experience with observability tooling, or past work building AI-powered features.
