Salary: $155,000 - $180,000 + Bonus + Relocation Assistance
Founded in the early 2000s, we are a 120+ employee defense electronics manufacturer developing advanced satellite communication systems for military, federal, and mission-critical users worldwide. Our engineering teams design and support next-generation SATCOM terminals, RF subsystems, antenna systems, embedded electronics, and multi-orbit communication platforms that provide reliable connectivity in some of the most demanding operating environments on the planet.
Our Clearwater facility serves as a center of excellence for RF engineering, microwave systems, SATCOM terminal development, modem integration, antenna technologies, and advanced communications hardware. We are seeking a Principal RF Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for RF and microwave design, helping define future product architecture while guiding the development of next-generation communication systems from concept through production.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead RF and microwave hardware development for advanced SATCOM terminals supporting military and government communications
- Own RF architecture, design decisions, component selection, and performance optimization across new and existing product lines
- Design, simulate, analyze, and optimize frequency converters, waveguide assemblies, RF filters, PLLs, and high-frequency RF subsystems
- Support product development from concept, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, qualification, and production release
- Perform RF system analysis and link-budget analysis across GEO, MEO, and LEO satellite architectures
What You Need for This Position
- 10+ years of RF, microwave, SATCOM, aerospace, defense electronics, radar, tactical communications, or related high-frequency hardware design experience
- Deep experience designing RF hardware above X-Band, including frequency converters, waveguide structures, RF filters, PLLs, and microwave components
- Strong board-level RF design experience including layout, grounding, shielding, thermal considerations, and high-frequency optimization
- Experience integrating RF hardware with digital electronics, embedded controls, modems, antennas, and power systems.
- Ability to provide technical leadership through design reviews, troubleshooting, mentoring, and product development support
- Experience with SATCOM, Ku/Ka/X-Band systems, antenna technologies, defense electronics, aerospace communications, or other mission-critical RF platforms, along with the ability to obtain a security clearance
