Who is Growing: Our client, a well-established and growing Colorado litigation firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join its expanding practice. The firm's practice focuses on commercial litigation, construction disputes, real estate litigation, contract disputes, business matters, and mechanic's lien litigation. Clients include businesses, contractors, developers, property owners, investors, and entrepreneurs throughout Colorado.
Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. The ideal candidate will lead complex civil litigation matters from intake through trial, manage high-value case strategy, counsel clients, and mentor junior lawyers and staff. This role requires strong trial experience, superior legal writing and advocacy skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters efficiently while maintaining ethical and billing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of civil litigation matters, including case assessment, pleadings, motion practice, discovery, depositions and trial preparation
- Manage complex civil and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Develop and execute litigation strategy
- Conduct depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials
- Draft and argue substantive motions
- Advise clients on litigation risks, business considerations, and dispute resolution strategies
- Mentor junior attorneys and support staff
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Participate in business development and firm growth initiatives
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and Active Colorado Bar
- Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience with demonstrable trial experience and courtroom exposure
- Proven track record in trial preparation, motion practice, discovery management, depositions and case strategy
- 10+ years of civil and/or commercial litigation experience:
Significant experience in one or more of the following: Construction Law, Construction Defect Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Business Litigation, Real Estate Litigation, Contract Disputes, General Liability Litigation, Mechanic's Liens - Proven ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
- Strong deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial experience
- Excellent legal writing, advocacy, and client-management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- First-chair trial experience
- Experience mentoring junior attorneys
- Strong business judgment and client-development skills
- Portable book of business welcomed but not required
