Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical and control systems in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will work on DC and AC systems, motor-generator sets, and PLC-based control equipment (Allen-Bradley), and will be responsible for programing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure safe, reliable plant operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical power distribution, control panels, motor-generator (M-G) sets, and DC systems.
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs and control systems, with emphasis on Allen-Bradley platforms.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, commissioning, and functional testing of electrical and control equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs to support repairs and modifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve faults in motors, drives, sensors, thermocouples, and instrumentation.
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment including multimeters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and calibrators to test voltage, continuity, insulation, and signal integrity.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair work to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Execute safe hot-work tasks such as brazing or soldering with a gas torch when required, following all safety procedures.
  • Document work performed, maintain accurate maintenance logs, and communicate status and recommendations to supervisors and engineering.
  • Follow lockout/tagout, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician certificate or equivalent industrial electrical trade qualification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with DC systems, motor-generator (M-G) sets, and variable frequency drives.
  • Proven ability to program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs and control systems, especially Allen-Bradley controllers.
  • Experience with thermocouple installation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Skilled in using a gas torch for brazing/soldering and in executing hot-work safely.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, AC/DC voltage measurement, wiring, and grounding practices.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools (multimeter, megohmmeter, oscilloscope) and test procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a maintenance team.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to lift moderate weight and work in industrial environments; additional certifications (NFPA 70E, CPR/First Aid) are a plus.
