A well-established and highly respected plaintiff personal injury law firm in Southwest Florida is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney to join its growing litigation team in Naples, Florida. This confidential opportunity is ideal for an attorney who is passionate about advocating for injured clients and has a strong desire to manage cases through litigation and trial.

The firm represents individuals in a variety of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, premises liability claims, wrongful death cases, and catastrophic injury litigation. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing litigation strategy, advocating for clients, and driving favorable outcomes through settlement negotiations and courtroom advocacy. 

Position Summary

The Trial Attorney will be responsible for handling a litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial. This individual will work closely with firm leadership and support staff while serving as a trusted advocate for clients throughout the litigation process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a docket of plaintiff personal injury cases through all phases of litigation.
  • Conduct case evaluations and develop litigation strategies.
  • Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts.
  • Conduct mediations, settlement negotiations, and pretrial conferences.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation and exhibit management.
  • First-chair or second-chair jury trials as needed.
  • Collaborate with medical experts, accident reconstructionists, and other specialists.
  • Provide exceptional client communication and counsel throughout the life of the case.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation and comply with all court deadlines.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in plaintiff personal injury.
  • Trial experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience taking depositions and attending mediations.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

  • Personal injury, motor vehicle accident, trucking, premises liability, catastrophic injury, or wrongful death litigation.
  • Experience negotiating with insurance carriers and opposing counsel.
  • Familiarity with Florida state court procedures and rules.
