Location: Sanford, NC
Hourly Rate: $25 - $30/hour + Night Shift Premium
Position Overview
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and improving reliability of production equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, CNC machines, PLC-controlled equipment, motors and pumps to minimize downtime, support production targets and maintain a safe workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, CNC, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Install, align, and maintain motors, drives, bearings, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
- Service sensors, actuators, valves, and instrumentation; replace worn components.
- Fabricate, weld, and machine parts to support repairs and tooling needs.
- Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and inventory using CMMS systems.
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams on root-cause analysis and process improvements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required; technical certification or degree preferred.
- 3+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hand tools, machine shop equipment, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Familiarity with CNC machines, Mazak controls, and tooling preferred.
- Knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, and rotating equipment.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Welding, fabrication, and basic machining skills are a plus.
