Position Overview
We're a well-established contractor with over 30 years of history and are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing and inspecting a wide variety of fire alarm systems for large commercial buildings. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety of our clients and compliance with national safety codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure functionality and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on various fire alarm systems, including EST3, Notifier, Silent Knight, Siemens, Honeywell, and others.
  • Identify false alarms, battery troubles, ground faults, open circuits, power loss, communication failures, etc.
  • Progam fire alarm panels
  • Assist in the installation and programming of new fire alarm systems as per client specifications.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients by addressing their needs and concerns regarding fire alarm systems.
  • Document all service and inspection activities accurately in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest fire alarm technologies and industry standards, including NFPA regulations.
  • Coordinate with construction teams during system installations to ensure proper integration of fire alarm systems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts, as needed
  • Proven experience in fire alarm systems service, troubleshooting, programming and repair
  • Familiarity with various fire alarm brands such as EST3, Silent Knight, Notifier
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards related to fire alarm systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in the field.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is a PLUS
