Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Executive to lead large-scale concrete, commercial, and industrial construction projects from business development through to completion. The Project Executive will be responsible for overall project performance including client relationships, financial results, risk management, and operational excellence while mentoring project teams and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee multiple concurrent construction projects (concrete, commercial, industrial) to achieve budget, schedule, quality, and safety targets.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships; act as the primary executive contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Drive business development activities, including pursuit strategy, estimating input, bid review, and transition to execution.
- Own project financial performance: prepare and approve budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and change order management to meet margin targets.
- Provide executive oversight of project management teams: staffing, coaching, performance reviews, and escalation resolution.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, commercial terms, regulatory standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate with operations, estimating, procurement, and subcontractors to optimize resources, procurement timelines, and construction sequencing.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and quality management systems on all projects; lead incident prevention and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor project schedules using CPM/other scheduling tools; intervene to mitigate delays and re-sequence work as needed.
- Report project status to senior leadership and clients, prepare executive summaries, and support strategic decision-making for portfolio-level improvements.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive construction experience with demonstrated leadership on concrete, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Proven track record in project management and executive oversight, including P&L responsibility and contract negotiations.
- Strong knowledge of concrete construction techniques, formwork, reinforcement, placement, curing, and quality control.
- Experience with estimating, scheduling (MS Project or Primavera), and construction management platforms (Procore, Viewpoint, or similar).
- Excellent commercial acumen, risk management skills, and experience managing subcontractor relationships.
- Leadership and people management skills with experience mentoring project managers and cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications preferred: PMP, CCM, or Construction Management certification; OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills; ability to present to executive stakeholders and boards.
- Willingness to travel to project sites regularly and valid drivers license.
