Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead capital and technical projects within healthcare and life sciences environments. The role is responsible for planning and delivering projects that meet GMP and other regulatory requirements, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing budgets and schedules, and ensuring successful commissioning and handover of facilities such as pharmaceutical plants, cleanrooms, and healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full project lifecycle from initiation and design through construction, validation and handover for healthcare and life sciences projects.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and budgets; track progress and drive delivery to milestones and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with GMP and applicable regulatory standards throughout project execution.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, quality, operations, contractors and external consultants.
- Lead risk identification and mitigation, change control, and issue resolution to protect scope, schedule and budget.
- Oversee contractor selection and management, including procurement, contracts administration and performance monitoring.
- Facilitate regulatory and authority interactions (inspections, permits, OSHPD/HCAI interfaces where applicable).
- Support commissioning, qualification and validation activities in partnership with QA/Validation teams.
- Maintain clear stakeholder communication and reporting to sponsors, senior leadership and end users.
- Manage project documentation, quality records and lessons-learned to support compliance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering, science, construction management or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in life sciences and/or healthcare capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience working in GMP-regulated environments and applying GMP requirements to project delivery.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and cross-functional project teams in technical facility projects.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning, qualification and validation processes for pharmaceutical or clinical facilities.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working with project controls tools and reporting; familiarity with MS Project and Procore is a plus.
- Nice-to-have: PMP certification, experience with GCP and GLP environments, experience with pharmaceutical plants and cleanrooms, prior work with Higher Education clients, knowledge of HCAI and OSHPD requirements.
