Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead building projects from pre-construction through closeout. The role is responsible for delivering projects on time, on budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will coordinate contractors and trades, manage schedules and budgets, resolve site issues, and act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders. Experience with steel and metal trades (steel, miscellaneous metals, sheet metal) is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and manage all phases of construction projects from mobilization through completion, ensuring milestones are met.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-control measures to meet financial targets.
  • Coordinate, hire, and manage subcontractors and on-site personnel, ensuring work is completed to specifications and timelines.
  • Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, including coordination for steel, miscellaneous metals, and sheet metal components when applicable.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to enforce quality control, workmanship standards, and conformance with design documents and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company safety policies; lead safety meetings and enforce corrective actions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks; proactively resolve construction issues and change orders with minimal disruption.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, progress reports, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes for stakeholders.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams to manage expectations and provide project updates.
  • Manage project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, turnover documentation, and warranty handover.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Project Manager in construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and on-site construction activities.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing; familiarity with steel and metal trades is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficient with project management and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of construction safety regulations (OSHA or local equivalent) and experience enforcing safety programs on site.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Relevant degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology or equivalent experience; PMP or CCM certification is a plus.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
