Salary: $130,000 - $170,000 / year
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid schedule)
Position type: Full-time
About us
We are a premier, growth-oriented CPA firm with a deep-rooted reputation for excellence and a culture that truly values work-life integration. Based in Atlanta, our team blends the technical sophistication of a large national firm with the warm, collaborative environment of a tight-knit practice. We invest heavily in our people, offering clear paths to leadership, modern technology, and the flexibility you need to thrive both professionally and personally.
Position overview
We are seeking an entrepreneurial and technically skilled Tax Manager to join our expanding tax practice in Atlanta. In this hybrid role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses. You will oversee tax compliance, drive sophisticated planning strategies, and mentor a talented team of associates.
While this role has a strong focus on Trust, Estate, and Gift Tax, we welcome well-rounded tax professionals. High-level estate work does not need to be your exclusive background, provided you have a solid foundation in the space and a desire to deepen your expertise.
Key responsibilities
  • Lead engagements: Oversee the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns, specifically focusing on Form 1041 (Trusts/Estates), Form 706 (Estate Tax), and Form 709 (Gift Tax).
  • Client advisory: Partner directly with clients and their legal counsel to design and implement strategic wealth-transfer, succession, and philanthropic planning.
  • Team leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff and seniors, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Research and compliance: Stay ahead of changing tax laws and navigate complex technical issues to deliver innovative tax solutions.
Qualifications
  • Certification: Active CPA license is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of public accounting tax experience, with a proven track record at the Manager or Senior Associate level.
  • Technical skills: Demonstrated experience working with Trust, Estate, and Gift Tax compliance and planning (can be a component of your broader tax experience).
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients clearly and empathetically.
What we offer
  • Competitive salary ranging from $130,000 to $170,000 based on experience.
  • Hybrid flexibility that balances remote autonomy with collaborative in-office team days.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including top-tier health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous 401(k) match and paid time off (PTO) program.
  • Dedicated budget and time tracking for your CPE credits and professional development.
  • A supportive, low-turnover culture that actively rejects the traditional "burnout" public accounting model.
