We are a top 125 Nationwide law firm seeking an accomplished Trial Attorney with proven first chair trial experience to join our growing Orange County office. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned trial attorney who thrives in the courtroom and is looking to handle high exposure, complex matters while working alongside a team of highly respected legal professionals.
The Trial Attorney will take a lead role in managing and trying complex civil litigation matters from inception through verdict. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of serving as first chair counsel, exceptional courtroom presence, and the ability to develop case strategies that drive successful outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as first chair counsel in civil litigation matters, including jury and bench trials.
- Develop and execute comprehensive litigation and trial strategies.
- Handle all aspects of case management from initial evaluation through trial and appeal, as needed.
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
- Draft and argue substantive motions, including dispositive depositions.
- Lead trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and trial presentation.
- Represent clients at mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and court hearings.
- Evaluate liability, damages, and litigation risks while providing strategic advice to clients.
- Mentor and collaborate with junior attorneys and litigation support staff.
- Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar.
- 5+ years of civil litigation experience.
- Demonstrated first chair trial experience with favorable outcomes.
- Extensive experience handling depositions, motion practice, and courtroom appearances.
- Strong command of trial procedure, evidence, and courtroom advocacy.
- Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage complex, high stakes litigation independently.
- Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.
