Staff Nurse - Inpatient Behavioral Health

  • Completes an initial treatment plan including basic and special needs
  • Treats and cares for patients demonstrating an understanding of cognitive, emotional and chronological status
  • Anticipates and provides for discharge needs
  • Charts the patient's progress in conjunction with the specific treatment plan.
  • Utilizes available resources, including family, referral sources, prior treatment sources, and current multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for the therapeutic milieu
  • Validates the appropriateness of written orders
  • Implements physician and nursing orders as appropriate involving the patient, family and significant others
  • Competent group facilitation and 1:1 interactions

License and Certification
 

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • The Registered Nurse will have a current RN Licensure in the State of Illinois.
  • Current CPR – BLS certification
  • 1 year of nursing experience within the area of inpatient psychiatry — preferred
  • Successful completion of Hospital and Unit orientation programs
