Accounting Assistant Overview: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to support our dealership’s accounting operations, with a focus on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring the smooth daily operation of our accounting department.

This is a part-time opportuity offering 30 hours/week. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and obtain proper approvals prior to payment

  • Reconcile vendor statements and investigate/resolve discrepancies

  • Maintain organized AP files and documentation for audit support

  • Assist with month-end closing tasks related to payables

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Reconcile AR schedules and follow up on outstanding balances

  • Process and post repair orders, parts invoices, and vehicle deals accurately

  • Apply payments and maintain accurate customer account records

  • Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding billing questions or payment issues

Vehicle Titling & Inventory Support

  • Review and complete state title documentation accurately and in a timely manner

  • Ensure proper processing of vehicle titles in compliance with state regulations

  • Reconcile vehicle inventory schedules

  • Assist with tracking and reconciling vehicle payables


Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience required

  • Working knowledge of dealership management systems (DMS) preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software

Understanding of general ledger processes and account reconciliation

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality

Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
