Preschool Education Director - Early Childhood Education
Location:
The Learning Experience - Hell's Kitchen, New York, NY
Salary: $80,000-$100,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

The Learning Experience - Hell's Kitchen is seeking an experienced Preschool Education Director to lead curriculum quality, teacher development, and educational excellence across our early childhood program.

This is a leadership opportunity for an accomplished early childhood educator who is passionate about developing great teachers and creating exceptional classroom experiences. Working alongside the Center Director, you will serve as the school's educational leader and help ensure children receive engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences every day.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Lead implementation of The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum 
  •  Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and feedback to teachers 
  •  Mentor and develop Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and classroom support staff 
  •  Maintain high standards for classroom quality and educational practice 
  •  Support lesson planning, child assessments, and developmental documentation 
  •  Identify professional development needs and provide ongoing teacher training 
  •  Support onboarding and development of new educators 
  •  Ensure classrooms and educational practices meet applicable licensing requirements 
  •  Maintain required educational, training, and compliance documentation 
  •  Build positive relationships with families and support educational communication 
  •  Partner with the Center Director on staffing, family retention, enrollment, and school quality 
  •  Foster a positive culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement 
Qualifications

  •  Must meet applicable New York City Education Director qualification requirements 
  •  Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field required 
  •  New York State Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education, Birth-Grade 2, or equivalent strongly preferred where applicable 
  •  3+ years of early childhood education leadership experience preferred 
  •  Experience coaching and developing early childhood teachers required 
  •  Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice 
  •  Knowledge of applicable New York City childcare licensing requirements 
  •  Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
