About the Substation Engineer - Senior position in the Substation, Protection and Controls Team
ControlPoint Technologies is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to provide project support within our Substation Engineering team.
Candidates must have direct experience with substation protection and control projects for electric utilities. The projects will range from 4kV to 345kV and the candidate will be client facing and interface with the other disciplines. Must be an outgoing team player with the ability to provide client confidence.
Technical Responsibilities:
Base Compensation Range: $95,000.00-$134,000.00
The base compensation range for this position is based on education, work experience, licensure, and qualifications.

- Substation General Arrangement
- Control House Layout
- Plans and Sections
- Grounding
- Lightning Protection
- Conduit/trench Layout

- Prepare calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lightning protection, voltage drop, AC/DC load studies, etc.)
- Support/coordinate engineering and design related to Civil/Structural aspects of the designs
- Coordination with Protection and Control
- Perform quality control/assurance reviews
- Project support from scoping to final design and project closeout

- Strong client focus and customer service
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) is a plus with ambition to obtain Professional Engineering Licensure (PE)
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience electric utility industry
- Experience in utility substation engineering with focus on electrical or physical aspects of design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Base Compensation Range: $95,000.00-$134,000.00
