The Role: What You'll Do
As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will gain exposure to diverse projects and support our team through:
- Analysis & Design: Assist with structural calculations, framing layouts, and component design for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures.
- Drafting & Documentation: Assist with the development of structural plans and construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Technical Support: Assist engineers with project specifications, technical reports, and design deliverables.
- Field Investigation: Participate in site visits and condition assessments to observe how structural systems are built and evaluate existing facilities.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside licensed Professional Engineers and team members across engineering, architecture, surveying, and planning.
What You'll Bring
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering with a concentration or strong coursework focus in Structural Engineering (sophomore level or higher preferred).
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Mindset: A collaborative attitude, a strong desire to learn, and an interest in growing long-term within consulting engineering.
- Technical Basics: Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and an aptitude for structural analysis principles.
Preferred Qualifications (The Nice-to-Haves)
- Coursework in structural analysis, steel design, reinforced concrete design, or foundation design.
- Prior exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, or structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, SAP2000, RAM).
