Job Description:

We're supporting an established Pittsburgh-area robotics company seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the development of its next-generation autonomous robotic platform. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants significant ownership and the ability to see their work move from design into real-world production.

Location: Downtown Pittsburgh area

Work Model: Hybrid - minimum 3 days onsite per week

Employment: Full-time, direct hire

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and moving assemblies for advanced robotic products.
  • Take new designs from early concepts through prototyping, testing, refinement, and production.
  • Apply mechanical analysis and sound engineering principles to ensure designs are reliable and perform as intended.
  • Work closely with electrical, software, manufacturing, and other engineering teams throughout product development.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and outside engineering/manufacturing partners to bring designs into production.

Qualifications
  • Strong background designing complex mechanical or electromechanical products with moving components and mechanisms.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D CAD; SolidWorks experience is preferred.
  • Proven experience developing products beyond the design stage through testing, manufacturing, and production.
  • Experience with motors, gearboxes, bearings, actuators, sensors, or similar mechanical motion systems.
  • Robotics experience is a plus but not required; backgrounds in industrial automation, material handling, aerospace, transportation, medical devices, heavy equipment, or similar product environments can translate well.
