Job description

The Opportunity:

I'm partnering with an established, highly technical niche component manufacturer located in Southwestern Ontario. Operating out of clean, modern facilities, they deliver high-precision engineering solutions for global clients across demanding industrial sectors.

They're looking to hire a Senior Manufacturing Engineer / Engineering Manager to drive manufacturing process optimization, automation implementation, and technical leadership. This is an on-site, technical role suited for a versatile, self-directed engineer who thrives in high-mix environments - leading custom automation projects and solving complex manufacturing process challenges.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Performing process optimization, equipment qualification, and continuous improvement on high-precision component manufacturing lines
  • Designing, implementing, and optimizing flexible automation solutions
  • Integrating and troubleshooting automated vision inspection systems and assembly equipment to eliminate manual processes and ensure product quality
  • Utilizing 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) and 2D drafting (AutoCAD) to design workstations, assembly equipment, robotic tooling, fixtures, and material handling systems
  • Leading manufacturing engineering projects from initial concept through design, installation, debug, and full production stabilization
  • Partnering with Production, Quality, Product Development, and Health & Safety departments to resolve process bottlenecks and enforce safe operational standards
  • Documenting engineering changes, establishing standard work instructions, and providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff
  • Managing project deliverables independently with minimal direction while maintaining clear cross-functional communication and quick execution timelines
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or Robotics & Automation
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of progressive hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in high-volume or high-precision production environments
  • Strong technical expertise in automation, robotics, PLC concepts, sensors, and vision inspection technologies
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks) and 2D drafting (AutoCAD) for fixture, tooling, and equipment design
  • Proven track record of independently managing engineering projects from concept through to final validation using root-cause analysis
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, safety-first mindset and a drive to build efficient processes
Compensation Range: $100,000 - $120,000
