Job description

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer will monitor and audit all departments to ensure company products are meeting or exceeding the quality requirements of our vendors and customers.

Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.

Accountabilities:

  • Drive all APQP and PPAP activities for assigned customers.
  • Ensure appropriate containment of suspect and nonconforming product.
  • Issue Material Complaint Notices (MCNs) to suppliers.
  • Partner with Research and Development on problem-solving activities.
  • Provide input and support for customer audits.
  • Support new product launches.
  • Support the maintenance of IATF 16949 certification requirements.
  • Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and replication efforts.
  • Comply with all internal processes and policies, including applicable environmental and safety protocols.
  • Conduct tier-internal assessments and internal audits.
  • Develop and improve internal processes to support quality objectives.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Minitab, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PC-DMIS and CMM-related programming.
  • Six Sigma training or certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to learn and use vendor and customer software applications.
  • Ability to make sound decisions with significant business impact.
  • ASQ certification and/or ISO auditor certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
