Job description

Founded in 1975, BR+A Consulting Engineers maintains a total staff of over 500 employees located at our main office in Boston and branch offices in New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Vienna, VA (Washington, DC); Coral Gables, FL (Miami); Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Tampa, FL; Charlotte, NC; Charleston, SC; Houston, TX; New Haven, CT, Los Angeles, CA; and Toronto. BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services.

BR+A is seeking a Plumbing Engineer in our Coral Gables or Tampa, FL office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of experience and the following skills:
  • Familiarity with specification writing;
  • Performing field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects;
  • Coordinating with other disciplines;
  • Developing calculations for Plumbing system sizing;
  • Thorough knowledge of local Plumbing Codes;
  • Understanding work planning and manage the design process to the available hours in the plan;
  • Ability to meet with clients and work with contractors;
  • Oversee deliverables to and from clients;
  • Take ownership of assignments and work both independently and as part of the project team.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficient in Auto CAD and Revit
  • Strongly motivated, well organized, and shows professional initiative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive and collaborative team member
  • Previous experience in designing Healthcare, Commercial, Higher Education and Laboratory projects is a plus
  • PE License strongly preferred
